Submissions

Emerging Artists prefers that you upload the PDF of your script ON THIS PAGE! If you are mailing your script, always enclose your email address and have it on your title page. We will contact you after reading your submission. Do not enclose a SASE for reply - we will email you. If you want the script returned, please enclose a SASE for return of the script Thank You!! If you have any other questions, contact us.

Emerging Artists accepts submissions in the following categories:

Original One Acts

  • Fall Eatfest - plays 10 to 20 minutes in length - must not have been produced in NYC - no monologues - look for scripts that have a well written plot with a twist ending - Deadline - April 1st.
  • Spring Eatfest - plays up to 50 minutes in length - must not have been produced in NYC - character driven plays with unusual subjects and settings with a twist. - Deadline - July 1st

Developmental Series

Eat's Developmental Series is a 5 week program where each week a different artistic discipline provides artist an opportunity to present their work in progress and get feedback from an intimate talk with the audience. The artists present their work at whatever stage they are at in their process for one night.

  • One Woman Standing (OWS) - one woman shows -- Performance Dates: May 12 - 18, 2008
  • One Man Talking (OMT) - one man shows -- Performance Dates: May 19 -25, 2008
  • Laugh Out Loud (LOL) - puppetry and clown work -- Performance Dates: May 26 - June 1, 2008
  • Catch a Cabaret (CAC) - cabaret performers -- Performance Dates: June 2 - June 8, 2008
  • Notes From a Page (NFP) -new ensemble musicals -- Performance Dates: June 9 -15, 2008

Submissions for Playwrights


Emerging Artists is dedicated to developing new plays from an idea to a fully realized production. There are many opportunities for up-and-coming playwrights. We encourage you to submit your previously unproduced works. If you would like to submit a play for consideration, please send a copy of your script along with an introductory letter including your name, telephone number, address and e-mail address. We do accept electronic submissions. Please use the form below to upload files to us.
